With rainbows that average 4-8 pounds and fish available in the 12+ pound range, Little Willow Lake is a Fly Fisherman's dream. We offer fully guided trips on this fantastic fishery. This lake not only produces large rainbows, but can also produce great numbers of fish. Early in the season the fish will come off their cold winter and begin to feed heavily. This first sign of warm weather midge hatches are thick and fish cruise the warmer waters eating whatever gets in their way. It's pretty exciting watching a cruising rainbow of ten 10lbs waiting for the right time to cast. When you make the right one hold on, these fish a big and early they are fast and furious. Terrestrials and leeches work well along with some good calibeatishatches.
Brewer Lake on the same ranch offers good numbers of smaller, more aggressive Rainbow Trout with the added bonus of Largemouth Bass as well. If you have never experienced the excitement of catching largemouth bass on the fly, this is a great opportunity to do it. Sight fishing for explosive topwater strikes is the name of the game. This fishery will extend into the summer, as bass prefer the warm water.
The water temperature will depend on the length of the fishing season. Higher temps lead to more stress on the trout and these lakes can be subject to shutdown. Call for details on the current season.
