The Riffle Fly Shop wants to help you get started right in the sport of fly-fishing. We are offering a four hour class to help you jump in to fly-fishing with the knowledge and skills to succeed. This crash course will cover the following topics:
1. Understanding the gear, Rods/reels/lines/boots/waders/etc.
2. Knots, leaders, tippet, connections, rigging.
3. Reading water: where the fish hold and why.
4. Entomology: what fish eat and how to identify it.
5. Wading and safety in moving water.
6. Stream etiquette, interacting with others.
7. Casting.
8. Presenting your fly and managing your flies.
This class will include: Rental boots and waders. Rental rod, reel and line. We do not include fishing licenses and transportaion to the river. Call 541-388-3330 to register.
